Wendy & Kevin’s Golden Hour Wedding at Fort Stamford
This past weekend I photographed our first wedding of the season! Our busy season is upon us, and what a pleasure it was to start with Wendy & Kevin’s special day. After all the spring showers we’ve had the past two weeks, the weather cleared up Saturday morning with birds chirping and sun shining- a gorgeous day to get married! We’re not done with their whole wedding gallery just yet, but couldn’t wait to share this sneak peek with the new Mr. & Mrs.- check out some of our favorites!
Wendy & Kevin got married at Fort Stamford, a 5-acre historic site established during the American Revolution as a strategic fortification to protect the Stamford-Greenwich area from attack by the British forces. The fort was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975, and some of the mounds from the original structure and markers commemorating the fort can still be seen today. This property also borders the Goodbody Garden, which is maintained by the Stamford Garden Club.
The gorgeous grounds coupled by golden hour lighting made their photos more beautiful and romantic as the day went on. A lovely and memorable touch-Wendy’s father used to work as a florist many years ago, and made her bouquet for her.
This sweet couple had an intimate ceremony with just their immediate families. You could feel the love and happiness amongst both families, which was truly special. All the small details they incorporated were so beautifully thought out, including the embroidery of their wedding date in the grooms jacket.
Congratulations again to Wendy & Kevin- we wish you so much love and all the best!
