Live Music Photography: The Mojomatics at The Fez Stamford

I hope every-bunny enjoyed the Easter and Passover holiday! The trees are budding and flowers are blooming here in Stamford, CT and it's finally starting to feel like Spring. Our weekend was fun-filled starting with Good Friday when I photographed The Mojomatics playing at The Fez in downtown Stamford. I love going to The Fez to shoot live music because of the atmosphere, the engaged guests, and all the beautiful colors from their effects lighting. This time they added a few elements to the performance including a disco ball effect and some blue and red highlights. The Mojomatics performed really well and even had some diners dancing to their Chicago blues. Again, I only used my Nikon D800e with the Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8 with me because that's all I really needed for the tight space and low lighting. I did have to bump the ISO, but that's no issue with the D800 for capturing tact sharp images with proper exposure in the dark, intimate setting.

I'm sharing with you my favorite shots from the night The Mojomatics performed at The Fez on Good Friday, April 18th, 2014. The music, Moroccan food and entire experience was absolutely perfect and we can't wait to go back to capture more memories for the folks at Fez!

About the band:

Back in 1979, singer/harmonica player Manny Foglio and guitarist Bill Barrett collaborated to form The Mojomatics, a project that reflected their mutual affinity for the 1950's Chicago blues style pioneered by Muddy Waters. Forever since, they relentlessly carry on the tradition that brought them together in the first place, while honing their craft and attracting a loyal following. Now, armed with an airtight rhythm section, they continue to deliver an explosive array of original material, along with their trademark blues and soul covers.
