Summertime has finally arrived and so has the outdoor party season. My schedule quickly filled up with graduation parties, weddings, outdoor family portrait sessions and more. Last weekend I was in Scarsdale, NY photographing a beautiful family at their home followed by a dual 40th birthday party celebration in their backyard! I was surrounded by lush greenery, shady areas for proper exposure, and a playground for the kids to be kids. They even had an ice cream truck come to top it off! 

I started off the session with family portraits outside before guests arrived. I was using my Nikon D800e paired with the 70-200mm f/2.8 and 24-70mm f/2.8 throughout the day. First, I captured portraits of each child, then family shots and candids as the party started. I ended the shoot with photos of the cake and group shots to capture everyone in attendance having a grand time. It was the perfect summertime event and both the kids and adults had a terrific time!
