Stephen Colvin of Robb Report at Concordia College

It was an early St. Patrick's Day for Tashography. We headed to Concordia College in Bronxville, NY for a 7am event for their "Business Breakfast" series on campus to photograph Stephen Colvin's presentation to students and faculty. Stephen Colvin is currently the COO and President of Digital at Robb Report, a luxury magazine. He gave an excellent presentation on digital media based on his experiences, sharing his personal insight throughout his career. Colvin explained how disruptive media upstarts like Vice, Refinery 29, and BuzzFeed had the ability to topple established brands and traditional media.

As a digital marketer myself, I greatly appreciated hearing Colvin's presentation and how media (how we get our news/information) is continuing to change throughout the years. Now readers are used to "listicles" made famous by BuzzFeed and skimming top images or headlines for trending topics. There's lot of competition in media to capture an audience and the true king is content. Colvin even dug into analytics tools media companies use to sense what's trending or what the public is most interested in. The "Business Breakfast" series Concordia College hosts are an incredible asset to the community and I urge you to check it out next time! Many thanks to Stephen Colvin and Concordia College for making this event possible.
