Event Photography: Grand Opening of Blue Amber in White Plains, NY

Located in the heart of White Plains, New York at 49 Mamaroneck Avenue, Blue Amber provides the perfect setting for great food, drinks, and music. We were invited for their grand opening on Friday, July 18th, 2014 at 7pm. When you walk into Blue Amber you feel welcome and you see why they call it "Blue Amber" - you'll see the blue lighting and accents throughout the restaurant. The restaurant decor is beautiful, very modern and had a NYC-feel with custom wallpaper with hidden portraits. My favorite were the hanging silver balls and cozy booths for a romantic date night.

I took photos of the grand opening for my friend Kevin Camacho with my D800e and Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8. For the first few shots I chose not to use the flash and bumped the ISO up to 6400. It was really dark in the restaurant, especially towards the back so I decided to take out the SB-700 speedlight and set it to a low power to fill light on faces as I noticed Mayor of White Plains, Tom Roach entered the restaurant. After taking some photos, we were treated to this amazing champagne flavored with fruit from the Dominican Republic and dinner - steak tacos, yum!

Here are some select photos from the Grand Opening of Blue Amber in White Plains. I highly encourage you all to visit them in the near future if you're in White Plains. The cocktails are creative, food is delicious and the staff is very friendly.

Congrats and best of luck to my friend, Kevin Camacho and his family on their new restaurant!
