Couple Photography Session: Brooklyn Botantic Gardens

What a beautiful day for couple photography! I met Tracy & Austin at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens to take their portraits. Every part of the garden was breathtaking. We couldn't help but stop every minute or so to shoot and the greenery really made for an incredible backdrop.

I started off the shoot with the Nikon D800e and the Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8 with the SB700 on the umbrella stand shooting through to fill light. After awhile shooting mid-range, I switched to the Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 to really blow out the background and compress the image. You can tell the difference in the shots I choose for the gallery below.

Everywhere we looked we found a perfect spot whether it was by the flowers, trees, pillars or the many trellises and leading lines. This was a great chance to try different compositions to make an interesting shot while working with nature. I ended the shoot with the wide angle lens - Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8, to get nice shots of the gardens and candids of the beautiful couple. Here's a set of photos that I started post-processing. I will add more as I complete the set including more flowers, portraits, and landscape photography. Enjoy :) - Tash
